The most beautiful Slovenian coastal town
Piran is a town and municipality in southwestern Slovenia and is probably the most beautiful Slovenian coastal town. It almost feels a bit Italian, but for a good reason because Piran was part of the Venetian empire from late 13th century to the end of the 18th century.
First of all, Piran is a great spot. Small and compact but also having massive charm , it is simply beautiful. Young couples, older couples, families… this place is for everybody. This small and cosy town in the north Adriatic very much resembles the most famous Adriatic jewel, Dubrovnik.
Long traditions and a multicultural environment have made this coastal city a special place to visit and enjoy. Narrow streets and compact houses give the town its special charm. In the pre-Roman era, the hills in the Piran area were inhabited by the Illiryan Histry tribes. They were also pirates who disrupted Roman trade in the north Adriatic Sea.
We offer a range of Cheap Piran Hotels as well as other towns along the coast of Slovenia, including Nova Gorica Hotels and Koper Hotels. Piran is the birthplace of composer and violinist Giuseppe Tartini, who played an important role in shaping its cultural heritage. The town’s main square, Tartini sqare, is named after him. Piran was troughout its history linked to the sea. Because of this close connection to the sea there is a Marine Biology Station and Aquarium – two important foundations that you must see while on your Piran travel adventure.
